Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, manages and leads perspective shift operations with a direct approach, ensuring that
the systems, policies, and procedures are understood and adhered to by all employees, and that the expectations
and objectives of the business are accurately and diligently in alignment with the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Facilitate production workflows and assembly methods as assigned.
• Monitor and lead 5S discipline throughout the Plant and for accountable shift.
• Meet daily as needed with team members to discuss and execute on daily efficiency targets and goals.
• Accountable for workforce team members, ensuring accurate training, safety, and conformity to all
company policies and procedures are adhere to.
• Manage workforce by reviewing the daily schedule in alignment with training criteria to ensure accurate
allocation of assigned jobs.
• Works closely with Production Manager and Plant Manager to ensure plant operations are meeting and
exceeding all efficiency targets.
• Ensures all scheduled presses are running to BOM.
• Ensures all priority machines are performing to capacity standard to meet customer demand.
• Develops floor layout and workforce planning needs with scheduling and Production Manager.
• Manages and follows all Plant operational procedures in regard to press start-ups and shutdowns.
• Leads and communicates shift bull pen meetings daily, establishing clear expectations for shift
production teams.
• Manages all direct and indirect labor while working on the plant floor. Works with HR for guidance and
direction on addressing formal corrective actions.
• Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with all team members, customers, and
stakeholders.
• Responsible for performance management by providing counsel, discipline, evaluation, and personal
improvement plans.
• Ensures all production team members have adequate training for assigned jobs.
• Ensure all issues with accidents, attendance, and tooling have the proper paperwork submitted to the
appropriate employees before their shift is completed.
• Follows and adhere to all Local, State, and Federal laws/employment practices, ensuring team
members are treated with fair employment practices and standards in correlation Company policies and
procedures as outlined the Employee Handbook.
• Performs all duties in accordance with NB Plant standards and ISO/IATF procedures. Assist in the
development and continuous improvement of operations in the plant and quality systems.
• Maintains an appropriate level of conventionality and conformance in regard to the corporate culture.
Relates well with others, including, as appropriate, peers, supervisor, subordinates, customers, and
suppliers while maintaining good attendance. Assumes appropriate role(s) when working in a team
environment. Responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the
work environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical skills
• Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
• Soft skills required to develop and train Plant team members.
• Must be able to operate a Hi/Lo safely.
• Required to participate in 8D’s, ISO/IATF 16949, or team building meetings.
• Follow all applicable ISO/IATF 16949 Documents and procedures.
Education and Experience:
• Two to four years of direct experience in a Plastics Manufacturing environment.
• ability to troubleshoot injection molding equipment and molds.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
• Occasional sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
