Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPeoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent Plastics Manufacturer in the Lexington, NC area, is seeking 2 experienced Process Technician/Supervisor to join their team! This is a DIRECT HIRE! 

 Process Technician/Supervisor Job Summary:
 

  • Pay: $29-$35/hr
  • Shift Available:
    • 2nd shift: 2:00pm-12:30am M-F (4pm-4:30am Sat. and Sunday for overtime, currently working 3 weekends off 1 weekend rotation)

Key Responsibilities:
Business Side

  • Support, strengthen and advance the mission and operating philosophy of the team.
  • Abide by all regulations within the Employee Handbook.
  • Participate in required training programs.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System as it pertains to area of responsibility
  • Support the Continuous Improvement program


Responsibilities and Authority

  • Processing:
    • Start-up and maintain molding machines for production by entering data per approved setup sheets. 
    • Generate new process parameter sheets as required
    • Submit first and last piece articles to the Quality Department for approval.
    • Monitor accuracy of process setups thru out shift
    • Stop production and/or delivery if necessary to correct quality problems.
    • Ensure that all machines are running at approved cycle.
    • Troubleshoot and answer machine alarms to improve production and reduce downtime.
    • Build and setup end of arm tooling
    • Create/modify 6 axis robot programs
    • Continuously improve efficiency through cycle time and scrap reduction
    • Change molds per daily production schedule.
    • Ensure previous mold/process setup binder is removed from press and returned to the proper order on the setup binder bookcase. Only one binder should be at the press at all times.
    • Complete clamping and watering diagrams as needed.
    • Perform housekeeping responsibilities prior to leaving press area after all completed mold changes:
    • Remove set-up materials, parts, cables and extra hoses from the press area
    • Clean all old parts and runners from under machine, on machine and around press area, including purge.
    • Return mold spray cans to holders provided on machine
    • Clean up any oil or water spills on floor around press
    • Return workstation and all components to their proper place
  • Shift Lead
    • Supervise all aspects of the Manufacturing Department.
    • Monitor production numbers, schedule compliance and the efficiency of cycles. 
    • Complete Daily Production Reports in the Operations Database.
    • Handle employee issues to include:
      • Personnel issues
      • Perform performance reviews (These evaluations are proof of competency as required by the Quality Management System).
    • 90-day Employee Evaluation for new hire or when moved from one position to another
    • Employee Appraisal (annual)
    • Enforce regulations in Employee Handbook
    • Stop production and/or delivery if necessary to correct quality problems.
    • Enforce all safety rules. 
    • Ensure employees work safely to prevent injuries.  Record and report any injuries to the Plant Manager and Human Resources Rep.
    • Maintain and enforce Quality Standards
    • Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the plant.
    • Communicate with direct reports and employees on all shifts as needed.
    • Continuously work toward improving productivity and quality.
    • Complete all tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager and / or Designee.
    • Ensure the Quality Management System requirements are met in areas of responsibility.
    • Complete first piece, in process and last article inspections into Quick Inspect.
    • Complete the final inspection and label each container before moving to the warehouse.
    • Ensure that containers within the Manufacturing Department are labeled and stored properly.

 

  • Maintenance:
    • Have a Mechanical Aptitude
    • Use appropriate safety equipment.
    • Assist in the implementation of new equipment, processes and projects
    • These responsibilities are flexible and may change as needed.


Required Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of or experience with plastic processes, machinery and their affect on quality.
    • Ability to manage and train employees.
    • Forklift training.
    • On-the-job training
    • Ability to communicate and work well with others.
