Process Operator - Water

Location: Crewe / Cumbria

Rate: Up to £400 per shift+ £50 for weekday call-outs (Mon-Fri)+ £100 for weekend cover shifts

IR35 Status: Ltd or Umbrella

Duration: Ongoing

Overview

Carrington West is recruiting experienced Process Operators with a strong background in wastewater or water treatment operations. You'll support a Tier 1 client commissioning several sites within the United Utilities region, helping to monitor, run, and optimise site processes during commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

·Report to the Process Commissioning Engineer for daily operational tasks.

·Carry out operational activities across various wastewater treatment processes.

·Maintain compliance with Environmental Regulations and performance targets.

·Keep accurate site diary logs for process variables.

·Perform routine operational and maintenance duties, including record taking.

·Understand and apply environmental output standards and procedures.

·Use SCADA systems and other software for monitoring, reporting, and control.

·Perform basic maintenance (oil checks, greasing, etc.) and document activities.

Requirements

·Proven process operations experience in water or wastewater treatment.

·Ideally experience with United Utilities sites.

·Strong understanding of SCADA systems and plant operation principles.

·Willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications relevant to the role.
