What you’ll tackle

  • Transform specs and blueprints into complete estimates for mechanical scopes—labor, materials, equipment, and indirect costs included.
  • Engage with project managers and engineers to clarify scope, validate takeoffs, and confirm constructability.
  • Scan the market for pricing shifts, source suppliers, and benchmark costs.
  • Collect, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor quotes.
  • Support the creation of project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Keep estimate records, notes, and calculations organized and accessible.
  • Join project meetings to explain cost drivers and budget considerations.
  • Continuously refine templates, databases, and workflows to improve estimating accuracy.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar , not required.
  • Track record estimating industrial mechanical work.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and construction processes.
  • Comfort with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong math, analysis, and attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and tight timelines.
