Its portfolio of core technology and products offer unique capabilities in the areas of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and remote sensing applications.
Position Description
This is a fully onsite opportunity based in Tempe, Arizona. The Process Engineer will support wafer-level manufacturing and process improvement in a cleanroom fabrication environment. This role focuses on photolithography and/or wet processing within a 150 mm wafer line and will work closely with process development, yield enhancement, metrology, and equipment engineering teams. The person in this role will help strengthen process stability, manufacturability, and overall production performance while supporting the transition of advanced technologies into scalable manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and improve photolithography and/or wet processes used in wafer fabrication.
- Optimize process recipes to improve yield, quality, and manufacturability.
- Partner with integration, equipment, metrology, and production teams across the fab.
- Help transition work from chip-scale development into more repeatable wafer-scale manufacturing.
- Use metrology and data analysis to monitor process health, identify issues, and support continuous improvement.
- Investigate process deviations, contamination, and performance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Build and maintain process documentation including recipes, work instructions, SOPs, and related controls.
- Support SPC, DOE, inspection methods, calibration systems, and other process control activities.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts within the engineering team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of semiconductor process engineering experience, with an emphasis on photolithography and/or wet processing.
- Experience working in a semiconductor fab or cleanroom manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of metrology, SPC, DOE, and process troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting process optimization, yield improvement, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Ability to work effectively across engineering, production, and operations teams.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in photonics, integrated circuitry, or related advanced semiconductor technologies.
- Experience with compound semiconductor materials or processes such as GaAs or InP.
- Exposure to wafer bonding, dicing, or adjacent microfabrication processes.
- Experience working with or alongside semiconductor equipment suppliers or similar manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to 5S, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
