DISHER is partnering with a leading custom cable assembly and wire harness manufacturer, to add a a Process Engineer to their team to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new high-reliability wire harness and cable assemblies supporting new product Introduction activities. The Process Engineer will lead continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust manufacturing processes, owning tooling and material recommendations, supporting new product introduction through DFM and documentation, and ensuring compliance with key industry standards and customer requirements.

- Review customer prints and define efficient, high-quality wire harness and cable assembly processes
- Design and specify tooling, fixtures, and materials for repeatable, cost-effective production
- Lead NPI activities including DFM, BOM review, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions
- Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, MIL-STD, and ITAR requirements
- Support quality, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement in a small-shop environment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, suppliers, and quoting teams
- Assist with electrical testing, EMI/EMC considerations, and high-reliability assemblies
- Use CAD software for harness routing and formboard support
- Heavy focus on new product development with growing responsibility for ongoing process improvement
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 3+ years experience
- Ability to read prints and develop efficient wire harness or cable assembly processes
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and NPI support
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, and MIL-STD requirements, or ability to quickly learn
- Hands-on, shop-floor–oriented engineer with strong problem-solving skills
- CAD experience for harness routing or formboard support
- Wire harness/cable assembly experience
- Military, defense, or aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience in high-mix or contract manufacturing environments
