Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH is seeking a Process Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near South Bend, IN. This is a unique opportunity to join a long-standing organization within a fast-growing industry. You'll work in a collaborative, team-centered environment where engineering, production, and quality work closely together to drive efficiency, reliability, and technical excellence. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $100-115K per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match. ***Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.*** JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and optimize robust manufacturing processes.
- Partner with engineering teams to support design reviews and production launch activities.
- Conduct trials, capability studies, and performance analyses to validate process improvements.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve process issues and support production teams.
- Oversee implementation of new tooling, equipment, and other process enhancements.
- Create clear technical documentation, reports, and process instructions.
- Implement automation strategies and assist with robotic equipment programming.
- Maintain process controls and establish parameters for efficient production runs.
- Provide direction to hourly staff members and engineers regarding best practices and other SOPs.
- Train team members on process methods, quality expectations, and equipment use.
- Support layout planning and workflow improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Collaborate with cross?functional teams to achieve KPIs and operational targets.
- Manage vendor interactions for equipment evaluation and technical discussions.
- Ensure all processes align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing industry is required
- Ideal candidates will have experience within a regulated environment such as medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.
- Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
- Must possess the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams/schematics
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
