Process Engineer – Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Location: Onsite
Job Type: Permanent | Direct Hire

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations in a Food & Beverage production environment. This is a highly floor-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, supporting PLC-controlled systems, and training operators and maintenance teams to drive efficiency, quality, and food safety.

What You’ll Do

• Optimize food and beverage manufacturing processes to improve throughput, quality, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled production and packaging equipment.
• Spend significant time on the production floor identifying issues and implementing solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on downtime reduction and waste elimination.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation.
• Train and mentor operators and maintenance personnel on process controls, equipment, and best practices.
• Partner with Maintenance, QA, Sanitation, and Operations teams to support compliant production.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and company safety policies.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a Process Engineer or similar hands-on manufacturing role, preferably within Food & Beverage.
• Strong working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems (troubleshooting and diagnostics).
• Hands-on experience with automated production or packaging equipment.
• Ability to train and support production and maintenance teams.
• Comfortable working on the production floor and around machinery.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

(Not Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related field).
• Experience with high-speed production or packaging lines.
• Familiarity with CIP/SIP systems, fillers, conveyors, or similar equipment.
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
