Process Engineer - Machinist

Aerostar Manufacturing is looking for an experienced a Process Engineer-Machining to join our team.

Position Summary: The Process Engineer/Mastercam, is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves setting up CNC machines for new launches, supporting in APQP/PPAP deliverables, analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and product quality.

Key Activities

• Creates programs for new jobs
• Performs setups for new jobs
• Performs tooling test
• Participates in selection of new tooling
• Makes work-holding for turning jobs (jaws, drag bar-stock connectors, etc.)
• Creates and/or updates tool sheets/setup sheets as required
• CNC Machining setup
• CNC tooling knowledge
• Mastercam programing required (Mills / Lathes)
• Fixture design
• Shop experience including setup and operation of CNC machining centers required.
• Troubleshooting on changeovers when required
• Investigate process deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize software tools to simulate and model process performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize process parameters.
• Troubleshooting on changeovers when required

• Manage process engineering aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Support in training process as needed

Skills:

• CNC Machining setup
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Mastercam programming
• Able to demonstrate proficiency with G & M codes.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints with GD&T tolerancing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to work cross functionally.
• Microsoft office (Excel, word, power point, Outlook)

• CNC Tooling 5yrs
• CNC Setup/changeover 5yrs
