We are a company which recently relocated and redomiciled in the U.S. We will play a significant role in supplying increasing U.S. demand for magnesium metal and alloys. Our future proprietary technology will look to utilize a continuous silicothermic process to produce [99.9%] pure magnesium achieved with low labor and energy costs while generating zero toxic by-products. Technology is at the heart of our business and is the result of 10 years of stealth research and development done in our original location in British Columbia, Canada. Our R&D team consists of world leading authorities in magnesium production and expertise as well as research from as early as post-WWII U.S. magnesium production; when America led the industry.
Job Description:
This role will have multiple responsibilities. We are currently designing and building a pilot plant facility. This role will have two phases to begin with:
· During construction
o Attend and contribute to the Hazardous Operability studies for the pilot plant design
o Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures
o Daily management of construction crew
o Perform toolbox talk each morning
o Perform Hazardous Risk Assessments during the construction process
o Maintain project schedule and provide weekly updates to management
o Manage all work orders
o Manage all lockouts, confined space entries, and occupational hygiene
o Receive all deliveries
· During operations
o Supervise the operations and maintenance teams
o Operate equipment when required
o Input and manage process data
o Assist in data analytics
o Flowsheet optimization
o Schedule and manage sample analysis with external laboratories
o Work flexible hours that could include nightshifts
This role will be very fast paced and will require a significant amount of self-directed learning. There will be a senior role to grow into after the pilot plant operation is complete.
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in engineering with Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical specialization
· Registered or ability to register as a PE in the state of Nevada
· 2-5 years of relevant experience, especially in metallurgical operations
· Highly organized and ability to multi-task essential
· Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office Suite®: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
· Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
· Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable making recommendations
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
· Capacity to work in a proactive manner and possess good time management skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with others in a technical team-based environment
· Preference will be given to candidates with previous metallurgical pilot plant experience and/or industrial plant construction experience
· The Company conducts its work based out of a newly acquired location in Las Vegas, Nevada, locating to this area will be required.
