Senior Process Engineer – Power

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Compensation: $125,000–$150,000
Location: Primarily onsite (4 days in office, Friday flexibility)

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing engineering team and support complex power‐ projects across the Americas. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can lead process design activities, support full‐cycle project execution, and mentor junior team members in a collaborative, in‐office environment.

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for process engineering design functions including combustion and steam turbine auxiliary systems, process equipment design, process control/instrumentation integration, and start‐up support. Designs must meet contract, quality, and schedule requirements for major power projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare heat and material balances and develop PFDs
• Develop and manage P&IDs
• Create process data sheets for instrumentation and equipment
• Perform and review hydraulic calculations
• Conduct heat exchanger thermal calculations and pump sizing
• Support FEED studies, proposals, detailed design, execution, commissioning, and project closeout
• Interpret and validate process documentation and equipment sizing
• Collaborate with cross‐functional engineering teams
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Participate in technical reviews and client discussions
• Support manufacturing, operations, and process improvement initiatives
• Travel up to 15%

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 7–10 years of experience with an EPC firm or combustion/steam turbine OEM
• Strong analytical skills and experience with:
• System simulations (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, or equivalent)
• Equipment design and rating (heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, etc.)
• Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) design
• Gas pipeline codes and standards
• P&ID management
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to mentor and develop team members

Qualifications

• Experience in:
• Power , nuclear energy, or subsystem power
• Oil & Gas or EPC environments
• Natural gas compressor design and operation
• Natural gas pressure regulating skids
• HAZOP, SIL reviews, construction punch‐out, and project startup
• SmartPlant PID software
• Natural gas conditioning equipment (KO drums, coalescing filters, adsorption units, etc.)
• Control valve design or specification
• HRSG or boiler design
• Combined cycle heat & material balance creation or performance testing

Work Environment

• Primarily onsite role to support collaboration and mentorship
• Highly interactive engineering team with strong emphasis on knowledge sharing
• Friday flexibility for partial WFH
