Specific Functions
- Responsible for coordinate all new product activities on production areas.
- Responsible for all the technical information regarding manufacturing process including but not limited to: Tooling Charts, PFMEA, Flow diagrams, Standard working Methods, Packaging Methods, etc.
- Analyzes production data and implements production changes and/or preventative maintenance changes to
- Increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Assesses production equipment needs and providing solutions to improve department efficiencies and reduce costs
- Communicates and works with Maintenance Manager, Production Manager to develop and maintain a level production schedule that will meet customer requirements, such as but not limited to, higher inventory turns, lead time and earned hours
- Coordinate research and development projects as needed
- Responsible for quality procedures that affect this work area
- Responsible for ensuring employees receive the required safety and operational/departmental training and that technical support is provided to them.
- Participate in preventive actions where appropriate. Conduct corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis and reporting as required
- Perform other related duties as deemed necessary or assigned
Specialized Knowledge
- Minimum 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read blueprints including GDT
- Must have a basic understanding or ability to learn pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical power sources along with a mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures involving production equipment and its functions
- Must have advance understanding of turning and drilling CNC processes and cutting tools.
- Must have advance understanding of metal cutting processes (turning and drilling) regarding cutting material selection, speed, feed rate, tool selection.
- Prefer strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
- Ability to plan – determine priorities and effectively schedule work and to function in an organized manner that addresses critical issues and are supported by an effective plan
- Ability to delegate – effectively use subordinate’s skills; clearly define and follow-up on delegated responsibilities
