JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and delivering efficient and sustainable solutions for the collection, processing, storage, and transport of fly ash.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
- Analyze, design, and implement processes for the efficient handling of fly ash, including collection, separation, conditioning, and transportation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve system performance to maximize operational efficiency and minimize costs.
- Lead or participate in projects related to the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of fly ash handling equipment.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets while ensuring alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Monitor the quality of fly ash to ensure compliance with client specifications and standards for reuse or disposal.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of processes and equipment to maintain optimal operation.
- Ensure all processes meet local, state, and federal environmental regulations, particularly those governing emissions, waste management, and material recycling.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and reports for compliance audits.
- Provide technical expertise to the operations team, clients, and stakeholders on fly ash handling systems and innovations.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective actions or process modifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in ash handling and processing.
- Identify and implement new technologies and methods to enhance environmental sustainability and cost efficiency.
- Travel required up to 25%

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of chemical, mechanical, and environmental engineering principles as they apply to materials handling and industrial processes.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material properties relevant to fly ash handling and processing.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA standards, OSHA requirements) concerning emissions, waste management, and ash recycling.
- Understanding of industry standards for power plant operations and waste byproduct utilization.
- Expertise in fly ash characteristics, including composition, particle behavior, and applications in cement, construction, or other industries.
- Awareness of emerging trends in fly ash management and recycling technologies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
- 3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in power plant operations, materials handling, or waste management.
- Strong knowledge of fly ash processing, handling equipment, and environmental compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools, CAD software, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and recycling/reuse applications for fly ash is a plus.

The employee should possess the ability to:
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
- Prolong standing or in stationary position
- Complete repetitive movements
- Bend and/or twist
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
