Job Description

MERITUS are recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our client in aerospace on an initial 7 month project with very likely extensions thereafter.

PROCESS ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £37.02 PER HOUR - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - 7 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support aircraft production programmes, with a focus on industrialising design modifications into the manufacturing environment.

This role centres on work preparation and production engineering activities, translating engineering design intent into practical manufacturing instructions and processes. The successful candidate will support the integration of mechanical and electrical modifications into aircraft production while working within a cross-functional engineering and manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate engineering design intent into manufacturing documentation and technical instructions used in aircraft manufacture, assembly, testing, and certification.

• Produce detailed work preparation definitions, including manufacturing routings, bills of materials, work instructions, and process calculations.

• Support the industrialisation of aircraft modifications into the production environment.

• Ensure all engineering documentation and manufacturing processes meet internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Manage and support manufacturing process improvements, including methods, tooling, and implementation strategies.

• Assess and optimise manufacturing capacity and production processes, recommending improvements where required.

• Provide technical support to production teams, including shopfloor, supply chain, and final assembly operations.

• Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and other business functions to ensure effective programme delivery.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience within aerospace manufacturing engineering or production engineering environments.

• Understanding of aircraft production processes and engineering methods.

• Ability to translate engineering requirements into practical manufacturing processes and documentation.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement approaches.

• Experience working with manufacturing systems and engineering data tools (e.g., ERP/MRP systems such as SAP).

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.

• Self-motivated with the ability to manage technical tasks within a fast-paced production environment.
