Job DescriptionJob Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
· Ability to read and write English at an appropriate level to correctly perform essential duties of the job.
· Ability to develop, document and maintain Process Sheets for all possible combination of molds and molding
machines.
· Ability to develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all key processes, changes, mold setups, startups, shutdowns, etc.
· Ability and willingness to train and mentor others. Ability to measure the effectiveness of the training.
· Ability to use Continuous Improvement tools to improve key processes such as changes, mold setups, etc.
· Ability to develop processes for new products and to test new resins and/or colorants. Follow through the entire testing process from scheduling tests with operations to approval of products by QA.
· Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Maintenance Department to ensure maximum up-time.
· Ability to set mold into press using a lift truck.
· Ability to keep track of colorant inventory and of colorant inventory. Ensure that colorant inventories are submitted by Friday every week. Make sure that colorant older than one year is submitted for scrap following proper inventory procedures.
· Ability to properly install all associated equipment to the molding process: thermolators, flow meters, water pumps, cooling towers, etc.
· Ability to work with outside suppliers to investigate newer technologies on all areas of injection molding.
· Ability to work cooperatively with QA to perform checks for quality and coordinate with Q.A. and tech staff on quality issues.
· Ability to maintain all production (including related raw materials) and assembly inventory using “FIFO” system (first in first out).
· Ability to keep track and maintain inventory of all consumables used in the molding department; mold release, purging compound, etc.
· Ability to follow all HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
· Ability to perform all of the above under the given Physical Demands and Work Environment detail below.
· Ability to complete any assigned task or duty, as required.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Ability to provide housekeeping.
· Ability to monitor all equipment.
· Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Ability to assist other employees in the department as required and as time permits.
· Ability to train new department employees when requested.

Ability to comprehend instructions and work with production reports. Ability to effectively communicate in English (See Essential Duty Number One) with other employees of the organization. Basic computer and math skills required.

Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator’s license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Walking and standing up for long periods of time
· Climbing, bending, stretching, squatting, straddling, pushing, pulling and twisting.
· The employee will be expected to communicate in a Production Environment.
· The employee frequently is required to use tools, and/or controls and to reach above their shoulder.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. (The Employee is expected to practice proper lifting techniques). Occasionally the Employee will be required to move or lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, acuity, and peripheral vision.
