Job Summary

The Process Engineer will provide technical support to improve manufacturing operations, optimize processes, and ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with senior engineers and plant operations, this role involves troubleshooting process issues, supporting capital projects, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Analyze and optimize process performance to improve efficiency, reliability, and product quality.

Assist with troubleshooting process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, heat/material balance calculations, and equipment datasheets.

Support the design and implementation of capital projects, including preparing Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documentation.

Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify process improvement opportunities.

Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations while maintaining operational best practices.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for the selection, installation, and startup of new equipment.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy conservation, raw material utilization, and process sustainability.

Provide technical support for special projects, process tests, and production reports as needed.


Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering

1 to 3 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical processing.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to interpret and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

Qualifications:

Experience with process control systems and automation.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Familiarity with chemical manufacturing safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Work Conditions:

On-site role in a chemical manufacturing facility.

Requires lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs, and performing tasks that involve walking, bending, and stooping.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to non-routine callouts as needed.
