The Process Engineer is responsible for the following in the manufacturing of engineered fluids:
- Adhering to plant safety requirements and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Developing, configuring and optimizing the engineering fluids production process.
- Assessing the production and materials handling processes, taking measurements and interpreting data.
- Designing, running, testing and improving systems and processes of engineered fluids.
- Developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output to include product packaging.
- Managing cost and time constraints
- Performing risk assessments
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions • Use of CAD, process simulators and distributed control systems
- Working independently with a minimum level of supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, run, test and improve engineered fluids systems and processes.
- Analyze, develop, configure and optimize the engineering fluids production process
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions
- Perform risk assessments
- Manage cost and time constraints
- Prepare designs, cost estimates, specifications, and equipment ordering on engineering projects
- Develop and lead engineering projects
- Scale up and debottleneck processes
- Ensure that potential EHS issues related to the process operator, the environment, the process and the product are eliminated or reduced to minimum levels.

Level of Supervision Needed
- Ability to work without supervision.
Autonomy and Supervisory/Lead Responsibility
- Decisions require complex & analytical judgement to work independently toward general results, devise methods, modify/adapt standard procedures to meet different conditions, make decisions based on precedent & company policies.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
- B.S. Chemical engineering is required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in plant operations/design
- Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with PHA’s is required
Safety/Essential Functions
- Commitment for a strong safety culture is a requirement. Leads by example.
- Must be able to enter a confined space through a manway while wearing self-contained breathing apparatus and use readily available fall protection equipment (current standard fall protection and rescue equipment is rated at 310 pounds).
- Must be capable of working in an environment where chemical odors may exist at permissible threshold limits of exposure.
- Must be able to evacuate the plant, reporting to appropriate assigned muster point, in the event of an emergency or drill.
- Must be physically fit and medically qualified to enter a vessel unaided and under his/her own control.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to use equipment within its design limits.
