Process Development Engineer
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Process Development Engineer to join our team in Canterbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in mechanical engineering and process improvement to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of products to a variety of different markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction, driving operational efficiency, and supporting the seamless transition of new products into production.
Responsibilities
As a Process Development Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing robust solutions to production challenges to minimize line stops and ensure on-time delivery.
Planning and executing process improvements based on Non-Right-First-Time (NRFT) data to enhance delivery times while maintaining high-quality standards.
Collaborating with Development Engineers to establish effective processes for transitioning new product introductions (NPIs) into production.
Managing product development projects to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and smooth handover to production.
Representing the company in product development meetings with customers, both on-site and off-site.
Supporting Operations in resolving production issues and introducing new production processes.
Assisting the Quality team with investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements related to new product developments.
Contributing to the review and enhancement of engineering systems, processes, and tools to drive customer satisfaction and profitability.
Supporting the identification and development of technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A relevant degree in engineering or a related field.
Strong mechanical engineering skills.
Proficiency in CAD, including experience with 3D design tools.
Project management experience, with familiarity in MS Project being advantageous.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
The ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
A proactive, enthusiastic, and driven approach to work.
Day-to-Day
Your daily activities will involve:
Identifying and resolving production issues to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
Managing project timelines and budgets to deliver high-quality solutions.
Engaging with customers and suppliers to build strong working relationships.
Supporting the transition of new products into production and addressing any challenges that arise.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
