Process Development Associate will support early formulation studies and basic physicochemical characterization that advance preclinical and first-in-human programs. In this entry-level role (BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials/Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related; 0–1 year experience), you’ll execute experiments under guidance, keep meticulous electronic records, assist with lab readiness and sample logistics, and help distill results for internal reviews and regulatory documents. You’ll collaborate with partners across Discovery, Analytical, PK/PD, Toxicology, and Clinical Supply while learning to use automation and digital tools to boost throughput, reproducibility, and data traceability. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, curious communicator who embraces safety, quality, and data integrity in a fast-paced setting. This role offers hands-on training, mentorship, and the chance to help turn promising molecules into medicines for patients.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
OR
Associate’s degree and 2 years of experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 4 years of experience
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
- Proficiency in HPLC/UPLC for content and stability testing, including data processing/integration; experience with the basic operation of laboratory automation platforms for high-throughput screening (e.g., plate loading, run setup/monitoring, data capture, basic troubleshooting).
- Fundamental understanding of drug formulation and key physicochemical properties relevant to preclinical dosing.
- Proficiency in basic organic chemistry and core lab techniques (e.g., pH measurement, weighing, filtration, microscopy).
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver fit-for-purpose formulations; perform dose analyses for PK/PD and toxicology studies per SOPs.
- Execute HPLC/UPLC assays; process/integrate data and summarize results for project teams.
- Maintain complete ELN documentation and ensure sample labeling/traceability and data integrity.
- Support lab readiness (equipment upkeep, supplies, safety) and coordinate with project reps to meet study timelines.
