Your Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the uninterrupted operation of the process control systems by maintaining the hardware and network infrastructure.
  2. Identify and address issues with control software to minimize plant downtime and disruptions.
  3. Configure and test software components like trips, interlocks, and alarms in compliance with Solvay and UK HSE regulations.
  4. Enhance the control software to optimize operability and productivity.
  5. Install and configure control systems for new projects.
  6. Provide training to site personnel on control system operations.

Your Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in DCS programming and hardware, preferably within a chemical manufacturing setting.
  2. Desirable experience with ABB 800xA, ABB System 6, and ABB Sattline.
  3. Familiarity with batch operations and processes.
  4. A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, IT, electronics).
  5. Knowledge of industry legislation and standards related to control systems (e.g., IEC 61508/61511, EEMUA guidelines on alarm systems).
  6. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with personnel at all organizational levels, both technical and operational, to grasp control system requirements.
