Position Title: Process and Quality Control Specialist
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Position Description:
The Process and Quality Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality of all incoming materials, manufactured products, and finished outgoing products. This includes all quality processes and procedures pertaining to inspection, testing, manufacturing, and documentation to ensure products meet regulatory, customer, and company standards. The role requires a strong attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be working closely with the Production Team to implement Quality Control processes and procedures, as well as continuous process improvement.
An ideal candidate for this position would have quality control experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment, with a strong attention to detail, focus on quality, exceptional observational skills, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining quality of all products, processes, and document control. This candidate would possess strong technical/mechanical aptitude to understand manufacturing processes and functions of products, allowing them to identify non-conformities, and the ability to concisely document all findings. Additionally, this candidate would have experience developing and implementing Quality Control processes and documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Record and document current Manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Record and document current Manufacturing quality control processes and procedures.
- Create processes, procedures, reports, and quality control documents to maintain quality throughout multiple departments.
- Review, update, and maintain quality control documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Procurement teams to improve processes and quality control measures.
- Identify non-conformities, manage root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans for quality-related issues.
- Maintain vendor quality and risk assessment records.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and quality.
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System.
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Supervise Quality Control Technician(s)
- Supervise the Quality Parts Inspector(s)
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Manage quality standards throughout all departments of the company, heavily focused on manufacturing and shipping departments to ensure products are shipped to the customer correctly.
- Manage and communicate non-conformities throughout all departments, maintaining transparency throughout the company.
- Manage and maintain the Non-Conformance Report.

- Previous experience in quality control, preferably in an assembly or manufacturing environment, with an understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and sharp observational skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and non-conformities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate and consistent documentation, with an understanding of document control concepts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present findings and work with various departments to resolve quality issues.
- Quality mindset, prioritizing the quality of all products, with a clear understanding of the importance of maintaining quality control throughout all departments.
- Strong written and documentation skills to develop standard procedures and Quality Control documents.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how mechanical components interact with one another to accomplish their function(s)
- Knowledge of quality management systems/industry standards (i.e., ISO 9001:2015, IECEx/ATEX, CSA).
