Printing Bindery Machine Operator in Modesto

Job DescriptionJob Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate bindery equipment (folders, cutters, stitchers, collators, drills, etc.).
• Monitor and adjust machines during runs for quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished products for defects and conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Follow production schedules and job tickets to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Ensure proper handling of printed materials to avoid damage.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, complying with all safety guidelines.
• Complete required production documentation accurately.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers on job status and issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience operating bindery or finishing equipment in a printing environment .
• Familiarity with mechanical equipment and ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, job tickets, and basic schematics.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.

Skills:

• Experience with specific equipment such as Heidelberg cylinder, MBO folders, Saber cutters and Muller Martini stitcher.
• Basic computer skills for job tracking and record keeping.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques like scoring, perforating, and laminating.
