Position Description:

Banner Defense is in search of a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Medium Range Targets program office. Your work will cover multiple programs developing the next of reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and counter measures in support of creating realistic test environments for the nation's missile defense systems.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Medium Range Targets Program Office Systems Engineer activities with other MDA Systems Engineering teams and/or Product Offices, Prime Contractor, and Other Government Agencies (OGAs) as required
• Obtain & review information from the prime contractor as requested by the Government customer
• Taking ownership of the technical milestone review process and ensuring all entrance and exit criteria are addressed
• Facilitate Government IPTs and functional areas (systems engineering, quality, safety, logistics, etc.) as requested
• Technical baseline management of system designs
• Ensure levied requirements flow down, and verify compliance
• Interpreting flight test requirements and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure common understanding
• All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience:

• Masters in STEM field with 12+ years' experience working on missile defense-related or other DoD program / project OR
• Bachelors in STEM field with 20+ years' experience working on missile defense-related or other DoD program / project
• Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
• Ability to apply Engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems
• Experience writing, presenting, and coordinating product and engineering plans, policies, and procedures
• Understanding system interface requirements and requirements management
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and produce and present clear, concise, well-organized, and audience-relevant presentations and documents.
• Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate
• Works Independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks
• Experience working in a configuration-controlled environment and ensuring proper levels of handling are applied to items
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Travel may be required
