️ Principal Structural Engineer\n\n Portsmouth\n\n £65,000 - £75,000 + Benefits\n\n Hybrid/Permanent\n\nWe’re working with a successful and growing, multi-disciplinary design & build consultancy in Portsmouth looking to appoint a Principal Structural Engineer to play a key role within the business.\n\nThis is a great opportunity for either an established Principal or a Senior Structural Engineer ready to step up. You’ll take ownership of projects, lead from a technical perspective and support the wider team across a varied and interesting workload.\n\nYou’ll have plenty of autonomy, a strong level of trust and the backing of an established consultancy without unnecessary layers of red tape.\n\nThe Role\n\n Lead structural projects from concept through to completion\n\n Act as the key technical lead within the team\n\n Mentor and support junior engineers\n\n Deliver designs, calculations and technical documentation\n\n Manage client relationships and represent the business professionally\n\n Support tenders, surveys and feasibility work\n\n Ensure compliance with current standards and regulations\n\n Work with BIM / 3D modelling tools to deliver efficiently\n\nWhat They’re Looking For\n\n✅ Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering\n\n✅ Strong experience across structural design projects\n\n✅ Chartered or working towards (IStructE)\n\n✅ Good working knowledge of UK regulations and standards\n\n✅ Confident dealing with clients and stakeholders\n\n✅ Experience with software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Civil 3D\n\n✅ Able to run projects and take ownership\n\n✅ Ability to gain Security Clearance\n\nNice to Have\n\n⭐ MEng or similar\n\n⭐ BIM experience\n\n⭐ Project/contract exposure\n\nWhat’s On Offer\n\n £65,000 – £75,000 depending on experience\n\n Hybrid working\n\n Full benefits package\n\n Genuine progression as the business grows\n\n Good mix of projects including refurbishments, inspections and new build work\n\nIf you’re looking for a Principal role where you can genuinely make an impact and have the autonomy to do things properly, this is well worth a conversation.\n\n Drop me a message or apply and I’ll talk you through it
