Principal Structural Engineer – London\n\nCompetitive Salary + Benefits\n\nWe are working on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Principal Structural Engineer for their London office.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer looking to take on a senior technical and leadership role within a busy London-based team, delivering complex and high-profile projects across a range of sectors.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Principal Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership on a variety of projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for managing project teams, maintaining technical excellence, and building strong client relationships, while remaining hands-on in design.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and deliver complex structural engineering projects\n\nProvide technical oversight and review of designs, calculations, and drawings\n\nDesign in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber\n\nManage and mentor engineers and technicians\n\nAct as a key client-facing contact, attending meetings and providing technical advice\n\nEnsure compliance with UK design codes, standards, and best practice\n\nSupport work-winning activities, bids, and proposals\n\nContribute to the ongoing growth and development of the London team\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering\n\nChartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE)\n\nSignificant experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy\n\nProven track record of leading projects and teams\n\nStrong technical capability and attention to detail\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nCommercially aware with a proactive, collaborative approach\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary, dependent on experience\n\nClear progression route to Associate level and beyond\n\nExposure to high-profile and technically challenging projects\n\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements\n\nSupportive and collaborative company culture\n\nComprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development
