Principal Engineer – WTG Foundations (Monopiles)
I'm looking for a Principal Engineer specialising in primary steel design for offshore wind turbine foundations (monopiles) to join a growing team.
You’ll lead the design, analysis, and optimisation of monopile foundations using advanced in-house software, guiding projects from concept through to execution. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and client interaction, with a focus on innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design and analysis of monopile foundations using proprietary tools and the Sesam suite.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and client requirements.
- Collaborate with geotechnical and secondary steel teams for integrated solutions.
- Oversee project delivery, manage technical outputs, and coordinate with certification bodies.
- Drive innovation in monopile design and monitor industry trends.
- Mentor junior engineers and manage small technical teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
- 8+ years of experience in offshore structural engineering, especially global analysis of monopiles.
- Expertise in fatigue, structural integrity, marine loads, and soil-structure interaction.
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Location & Working Model:
Based in London or Bristol (hybrid model, minimum 3 days/week in office). Bristol-based staff must travel regularly to London HQ (expenses covered).
