Job Description
Principal Mechanical Design Engineer\n \nAre you ready to shape and lead mechanical design solutions across complex systems, influence projects from concept to in-service support, and take ownership of challenging work that can drive your career forward?\n \nSalary: £50-60k per annum\nLocation: Stevenage (or Bristol)\nWorking: Hybrid (3-4 days on site)\nClearance: SC eligibility\n \nWhat you will need\n\nBritish and SC clearance eligible\n • Significant experience in mechanical design and development\n • Ability to lead design work packages within multidisciplinary teams\n • Awareness of proving and qualification activities to meet requirements \nKey Responsibilities\n\nLeading the development of mechanical solutions across complex systems.\nCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept to production.\nApplying robust design techniques such as DFMEA, DFA, and DFM.\nEngaging with suppliers and stakeholders to influence design outcomes.\nSupporting compliance, proving, and qualification activities.\nContributing to structural, thermal, or dynamic analysis as needed. \nYour experience\n\nDegree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.\nExtensive mechanical design experience in complex systems.\nStrong 3D CAD/CAE skills (training on tools provided).\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence effectively.\nExperience of supplier engagement and multi-cultural team collaboration.\nCalm, professional, and able to prioritise multiple tasks. \nBenefits and balance\n\nAnnual bonus up to circa £2,500.\nHealthcare Cash Plan.\nFlexible dynamic working.\nPaid overtime opportunities.\nUp to 15 days additional flexi-leave per year.\nPension contributions up to 8%. \nKeywords: Mechanical Design, Defence Engineering, Product Lifecycle, DFMEA, DFA, CAD, CAE, Structural Analysis, Systems Engineering, Supplier Engagement\n \nElectus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to a number of high technology industries.
