No.: CJD(phone number removed)D\n\nLocation: Liverpool\n\nSalary: £55,000 - £60,000\n\nThis is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an innovative, market-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the planning, environmental, and engineering fields. They are currently seeking a talented, experienced Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who is committed to enhancing business development by winning new and exciting projects within the flood risk and drainage sector.
The role will be based in the lively, culturally-significant city of Liverpool.\n\nBenefits for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include (but are not limited to):\n\n- Competitive salary (commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience)\n\n- Generous annual leave entitlement\n\n- Possibility of hybrid/flexible working opportunities\n\n- An inclusive working environment, with a focus on collaboration and innovative thinking\n\n- Access to a range of interesting projects across the region\n\n- Extensive training and career progression opportunities\n\n- Genuine opportunities to shape the future development of the company\n\nResponsibilities for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\n- Proactively working to win new projects for the company, capitalising on all Business Development (BD) opportunities\n\n- Managing a team of technical professionals within the field\n\n- Producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and designing Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), in support of planning applications\n\n- Completing Hydrological and Flood Risk Chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments, Nutrient Neutrality, and ESG factors\n\n- Visiting sites, writing comprehensive reports, and analysing data\n\n- Using the appropriate software packages (including MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc.) to inform and produce designs and other technical documents\n\n- Working with AutoCAD to develop conceptual drainage systems\n\n- Producing flood risk maps within QGIS (or similar)\n\n- Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors\n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\n- A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science (or a similar, relevant discipline)\n\n- Demonstrable experience of having won projects, contributing to Business Development (BD)\n\n- Considerable experience of working in a flood risk and drainage role, within a UK consultancy setting\n\n- Extensive experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments and producing Drainage Strategies\n\n- Experience in managing people and projects\n\n- Good working knowledge of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, TUFLOW, and similar software systems\n\n- Keen proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and GIS software systems\n\n- Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite\n\n- Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills\n\n- Experience of managing relations with clients and other stakeholders\n\n- Dedication to your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)\n\n- Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence\n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\n- A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline\n\n- An understanding of relevant planning policy, procedures, and regulatory processes within the industry\n\n- Prior experience of producing technical reports for flood modelling studies\n\n- Good knowledge of hydraulic modelling for rivers, surface water, and/or sewer drainage\n\n- Actively working to attain Chartered Status\n\nIf you are interested in the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
