About the role:
The Principal Digital Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable digital systems across the enterprise. This role is critical in establishing the foundation for our workforce, third parties, and connected systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and cyber best practices. As the company scales, this engineer will play a key role in shaping our architecture, policy enforcement, and access governance programs.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture: Design and manage the overall enterprise and access management (IAM) architecture, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and federated systems.
- Lifecycle Management: Develop and maintain lifecycle processes for employees, contractors, and service accounts (joiner/mover/leaver), integrated with HRIS and IT systems.
- Access Governance & Controls: Implement role-based access control (RBAC), policy-based access controls (PBAC), and access reviews in alignment with security and compliance standards.
- Technology Implementation: Deploy and integrate IAM tools into cloud and on-prem environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Security, HR, Legal, and Engineering teams to implement strategies that support secure growth and regulatory compliance.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field required; with preference for candidates with strong foundations in architecture, authentication protocols, and enterprise IT systems
- 8–10+ years of experience in and access management, infrastructure engineering, or security engineering with a primary focus on IAM
- Deep hands-on experience with enterprise IAM platforms such as Okta, Azure Active Directory, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, RBAC, directory services, and authentication/authorization protocols such as SAML, OAuth2, and OIDC
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and scale lifecycle management processes integrated with HRIS, ITSM, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, ITAR, NRC, DOE), with a strong understanding of access control and audit requirements
- Prior experience in energy, infrastructure, aerospace, or defense industries

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $198,000 - $228,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
