This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, an innovative, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy looking to expand their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to an array of exciting projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are seeking a driven, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to take on a diverse array of challenging projects. You will lead a newly-established team of design professionals, based in the beautiful, historical Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
Leading a number of exciting engineering developments in a design capacity
Managing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, including aspects such as budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and delivery/implementation
Providing support and mentorship to colleagues throughout their careers, focusing on encouraging Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Managing clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
Preparing, checking, amending, and submitting various technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
Proactively enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice
Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
Hold Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body
Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy setting
Considerable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
Experience of drainage network modelling and earthworks design
Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar)
Demonstrable experience of writing and amending a variety of reports for submission
Prior experience of leading both projects and people within the sector
Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
Hold a Master's Degree (or higher qualification) in Civil Engineering
Prior experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
Experience of working in a public-facing role
