Lead Software Architect
EG – Minneapolis, MN – Full-Time

About the Role
EG is seeking a seasoned Principal Architect to be the guiding architectural voice for our customer-facing solutions. In this senior role, you will combine strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership to shape scalable, secure, and modern digital platforms.

What You’ll Do:
- Define and evolve the architectural roadmap aligned with business needs
- Lead strategic architectural decisions to support future capabilities
- Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to design effective solutions
- Architect and design products while establishing technical standards across platforms
- Mentor senior technical talent and influence architects and development leads
- Ensure security compliance aligned with industry and EG standards
- Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure teams for aligned application and infrastructure strategies
- Participate in incident response and lead resolution of critical technical issues
- Stay current with emerging technologies and lead integrations where appropriate

What We’re Looking For:
- 12+ years in application development; 5+ years in a software architect role
- Proven experience with cloud-, microservices-based platforms
- Strong skills in JavaScript, Java, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, PostgreSQL, CDNs, and CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies and modern software practices
- Excellent communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to code, perform code reviews, make design/platform decisions, and communicate at all levels

Security & Platform Health Focus:
- Ensure applications are secure, performant, and observable with robust logging and monitoring
