We’re seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager/Estimator to join our team. This role plays a critical role in driving project success before construction begins. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the preconstruction process—from conceptual estimating and budgeting to subcontractor engagement and final GMP preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in estimating, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver accurate and competitive proposals.


Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-construction activities from project pursuit through handoff to operations.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates at all stages of design, including conceptual, schematic, and design development.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and related documents to define scope and pricing requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project teams and design professionals to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
  • Develop budgets, proposals, and GMP documents in alignment with client and company expectations.
  • Stay informed of market trends, subcontractor capacity, and cost drivers impacting project pricing.
  • Participate in client and business development presentations as required.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction, preferably in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or education construction.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore or other construction management platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field .
