POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician is responsible for inspecting and preparing new double-decker buses before delivery to customers. This role ensures each bus meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance, and is ready for service.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
· Live and role model company values and culture at all times
· Conduct comprehensive testing of all bus systems and operational functions
· Diagnose and resolve technical issues across electrical and mechanical systems
· Perform and participate in road tests, completing inspection checklists and verifying system performance
· Torque wheels to specification; coordinate alignment and A/C commissioning scheduling and approvals
· Program and calibrate entry and exit door mechanisms
· Collaborate with the Final Finish Supervisor to ensure timely bus delivery to customers
· Download, install, and update software across various onboard systems
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
· Ability to read and interpret automotive electrical schematics
· Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, including CAN BUS architecture
· Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meters)
· Mechanical aptitude with hands-on repair or maintenance experience ()
· Experience with pre-delivery inspections for buses or RVs (an asset)
· Physical ability to:
· Regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently lift up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
· Stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and work at heights
· Comfort working in environments with vibration and moving mechanical parts
· Flexibility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
· Willingness to work outside of regular business hours when required
