Job Description

A leading commercial office fit‑out contractor is looking to appoint a Pre‑Construction professional who is ambitious, technically strong and keen to broaden their exposure beyond traditional building services contracting. They are open for a M&E‑biased Estimator / commercial fit out Preconstruction Manager.\n\nThis opportunity is ideal for an intelligent M&E Estimator who wants to move into a full design & build fit‑out environment, with clear long‑term progression toward senior pre‑construction leadership .\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will join the pre‑construction team and play a key role in tendering and early project stages, with particular ownership from an M&E and technical services perspective, while being fully exposed to the wider fit‑out scope.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nPreparing and supporting commercial fit‑out tenders\nWorking closely with design, commercial and leadership teams to develop fully coordinated D&B solutions\nReviewing M&E designs for buildability, compliance, value engineering and cost certainty\nEngaging with M&E subcontractors and suppliers to secure accurate and competitive pricing\nSupporting cost plans, tender submissions and pre‑construction documentation\nContributing to client meetings, tender interviews and pitches\nSupporting risk reviews, adjudications and handovers to delivery teams\nDeveloping strong knowledge of fit‑out contracts, procurement routes and programme constraints\n\nAbout You\n\nBackground as an M&E Estimator / Pre‑Construction Engineer / Commercial M&E professional\nExperience gained within building services, M&E or technically led contracting environments\nBright, switched‑on and commercially aware, with strong communication skills\nComfortable in client‑facing environments and confident contributing to presentations and bids\nAmbitious, eager to learn and keen to progress into senior pre‑construction / technical roles\nLooking for long‑term career development rather than a purely transactional estimating role\n\nWhat's On Offer\n\nSalary up to £95,000 for the right individual\nClear progression pathway toward Pre‑Construction Manager\nExposure to high‑quality, design‑led commercial fit‑out schemes\nMentoring and development from an established senior team\nOpportunity to move away from traditional M&E silos into a broader D&B leadership role\n\nEden Brown is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer
