A Power Systems Engineer is required to join a specialist engineering team developing autonomous platforms for use in extreme Arctic environments. The Power Systems Engineer will design and integrate power architectures for next unmanned systems. Responsibilities
Architect power distribution and conversion systems for autonomous drones and remote sensor platforms
Develop ruggedised uninterruptible power solutions and redundancy schemes for mission critical electronics
Select components and design power modules suitable for sub zero and high vibration environments
Perform simulation, analysis and validation of power circuits and energy storage subsystems
Work with electronics, firmware and mechanical teams to ensure reliable system level power integration
Support environmental testing, field qualification and performance assessment
Document designs, test plans and engineering reports for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
Background in power electronics, energy systems or hardware design
Experience in DC DC converters, battery xbpsjku systems, UPS design or harsh environment electronics
Ability to develop system level architectures and work across multidisciplinary teams
Practical testing, fault finding and validation experience desirable
Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
