You will be responsible for conducting technical analyses, optimizing study processes through automation, and collaborating with utilities, developers, and regulators to improve interconnection timelines. This role requires expertise in power system modeling, analysis, and a strong interest in applying AI-driven solutions to enhance grid integration. In particular, we are looking for engineers familiar with steady-state, dynamics, and short-circuit studies.

Responsibilities

Perform load and interconnection studies, including steady-state, short-circuit, and dynamic analysis with widely accepted commercial and open-source tools.

Develop power flow and stability models to evaluate system impact for new interconnections, including large data centers and renewable (inverter-based resources).

Assist in the design of interconnection facilities, including substation and transmission system upgrades.

Collaborate with AI and automation teams to streamline study processes and improve accuracy.

Evaluate system and interconnection options and upgrade costs including evaluating Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) options.

Work closely with utilities, developers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with interconnection standards.

Stay updated on interconnection policies, standards, and emerging AI-driven solutions in power systems, including the i2X forum and ESIG modeling task force.

Qualifications
