Now, we're building our next- aircraft XBAT like no other—one that will push the boundaries of innovation and performance.We're looking for a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to own the design of power electronics and the system they integrate with on the X-BAT aircraft. This includes architecture and converter design, development, and delivery across our aircraft programs. You will define requirements and be responsible for design from concept to production. If you excel in cross-functional collaboration, thrive in fast-moving environments, and are passionate about pushing the limits of power system design, we want to hear from you.What you'll do:Own flight critical power system design for X-BATDesign power electronics for the high voltage and low voltage systems. This includes inverters, DC-DC converters, battery management, and other power electronicsLead others to execute design, verification, and manufacturing deploymentProvide mentorship and technical feedback to others on the power team and cross-functionallyHarden the designs for harsh environments such as shock/vibe, high reliability, radiation, and high-altitudeWork on power sub-systems and designs for both low power ( 10 kW)Full-cycle hardware development: Own the entire flow — concept, modeling, worst case analysis, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, design reiteration for improving design maturity, testing and validationPCB ownership: Drive PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers, optimizing for power density, EMI, thermal, and manufacturabilityDesign for Safety, Manufacturability and Reliability: Design robust systems keeping in mind best practices for safety, manufacturing and reliabilityCross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Supply Chain, Test Automation, Production and various aircraft teams throughout the product lifecycleDesign review leadership: Lead and contribute to cross-functional reviews ensuring robust, high-integrity engineering decisions. Mentor junior engineers that support your designProgram execution: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones to drive on-time, high-quality outcomesRequired qualifications:You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalentYou have 10+ years of experience as an Electrical EngineerYou are experienced with: circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debuggingYou have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to othersFamiliarity with Altium or equivalentAbility to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance desired.$210,000 - $310,000 a year Seattle, Washington pay range: $250,000 - $380,000Full-time regular employee offer package:Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + EquityTemporary employee offer package:Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
