Power BI Reporting Engineer

Job Description

As a member of a growing Analytics team within a global Industrial organisation, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting multiple stakeholders within the business to utilise complex data, turning it into actionable insight that drives the delivery of business decision making and strategy. You will be passionate about working with data and excited about unlocking insight from in-depth analysis using a variety of back-end data management, analysis and optimisation tools. This is a hybrid role requiring regular working in the Rotherham office and site travel to various locations. The role includes an 8% annual performance bonus, 25 days holidays and access to Udemy courses which can be completed in work time, along with the ability to claim back Microsoft exam expenses once completed to further your knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Back-end data manipulation and organisation to be reported on by Power BI Developers and business users
• Data optimisation through the usage of DAX studio
• Management of model size, compression and performance tuning within the data sets
• Querying and analysis of performance data, providing impactful insight to the business performance
• Management of the Power BI Premium Capacity resources
• Champion data-quality and data operations best practice

Skills requirements:

• Experience of data investigation, management, manipulation and optimisation through the usage of DAX Studio (DAX Authoring, Report Authoring, Model Optimisation)
• Capable of discussing model sizes, data compression and performance tuning within the data back-end
• Understanding of SQL, Microsoft Azure and cloud data storage (Azure Datalake, Azure Data Factory)
• Understand and utilise Power BI Capacity to increase the performance of the Business Intelligence tools
• Examples of working in an enterprise setting with a mature Power BI & Azure estate
• Qualifications that include Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) and/or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst (DP-500)
