PLC Improvement Engineer – Banbury
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire (commutable from: Bicester, Brackley, Chipping Norton, Towcester, and surrounding areas)
Are you a hands-on PLC Improvement Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking and innovative manufacturing environment?
We are seeking a technically skilled engineer who thrives in a team, enjoys problem-solving, and has a passion for continuous improvement. This role would also suit professionals with experience as a Continuous Improvement Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Engineer.

You’ll be working Monday to Friday, day shifts with flexible hours, providing a healthy work-life balance.
Salary: £65,000–£70,000 per year, plus:

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and PLC maintenance in line with safety, quality, and company standards
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults on automated and production systems
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation projects
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and CMMS data
• Coordinate with engineers, production teams, and contractors to ensure timely and efficient maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
The ideal candidate:
• Time-served or apprenticeship-qualified multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical expertise
• Experience with PLCs, including Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley systems
• Previous experience in food/FMCG or industrial manufacturing environments
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ/BTEC or equivalent)
• Proactive, reliable, and a team player who takes ownership and initiative
