Role Summary

As a PLC Controls Engineer II, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive role.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning
  • Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams
  • Help develop technical documentation (QA/QC, test plans)
  • Participate in BUAT/UAT/FAT testing and post-installation support
  • Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting
  • Perferred - US or Perm not required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Up to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling
  • Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms)
  • Experience or interest in post and parcel operations ()

Soft Skills

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in dynamic environments (~90% travel)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate across teams

Work Expectations

  • Travel: ~85%
  • Onsite: Mason, OH when not traveling
  • Hours: 40–60 per week depending on project phase
  • Expenses: Weekly reimbursement submission required
