Plater Welder

Plater – welder £16 - £18+ per hour DOE



Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will need to be time served /apprentice trained, have a strong background in working with metal components, including experience with hand tools and power tools. As a Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal parts to meet precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. Site experience would be an advantage but not essential



Responsibilities



* Fabricate and assemble metal components using hand tools and power tools.



* Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and processes required.



* Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal parts securely.



* Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet established standards.



* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.



* Collaborate with team members to optimise production efficiency and resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.



* Utilise basic maths skills to calculate measurements and material requirements accurately.



Requirements



* Proven experience in fabrication and assembly.



* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.



* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.



* Familiarity with stick/mig welding techniques is highly desirable.



* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.



* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.



* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Expected hours: 50 per week, working 06:30am to 16:00 Monday to Friday with overtime after 40 hours paid at time and half and double time on a Sunday
