The Process Technician is responsible for overseeing set-ups and start-ups on existing jobs as well as programming and establishing new jobs; additional responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, material and/or tooling problems.
Qualifications:
- Must have Plastic Injection Molding experience
- Must be mechanically inclined; basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills; knowledge in plastic resins, additives a plus
- Able to read, write and communicate in English to effectively understand instructions provided and problems associated with equipment and production
Responsibilities:
- Perform, and may oversee, pre-set, change, and set up of all scheduled molds in the proper presses according to setup procedures and shop orders, in a safe and timely manner; set up all support and secondary equipment needed for each job; ensure proper packaging is available for the job.
- Must be able to perform changes and/or insert changes according to the shop order as required.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machines and secondary support equipment at all times; report any equipment breakdowns or damage to the supervisor/maintenance department immediately.
- Perform daily safety checks on each machine and sign off on inspections using the daily checklist; report any unsafe situations immediately.
- Maintain cycle standards necessary for producing quality parts and meeting production standards.
- Visually inspect parts according to the control plan, reporting rejects as soon as practical to the quality person in charge or as instructed.
