Plant Manager - Construction Materials Manufacturing - Base Salary to 150k/year - Fort Valley, GA

  • Our client is a specialty building products manufacturer. They provide solutions to building challenges that architects, designers, building owners, facility managers, and contractors face every day. Their products are a part of some of the most iconic buildings around the world–from the world's tallest tower, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, to the Oculus at the World Trade Center Transit Hub in Manhattan.
  • They are currently seeking a Plant Manager for their team in Fort Valley, GA. The Plant Manager will oversee the operational management of a manufacturing facility to meet industry demands and align with organizational objectives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency. The Plant Manager will provide guidance and performance management across all facets of production and engage collaboratively with internal and external partners regarding operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all elements of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to work standards and achieving production and company targets, such as promoting a culture of safety, meeting quality benchmarks, ensuring timely deliveries, and reaching cost efficiency goals.
  • Lead and mentor managerial staff by offering guidance on best practices and training opportunities for teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through performance metrics, root cause analysis, and collaboration to enhance process efficiencies.
  • Provide strategic insight and coordination for facility enhancements and growth initiatives.
  • Create labor and resource schedules to align with customer demands and budget targets.
  • Analyze performance data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and propose actionable strategies.
  • Manage production expenditures by establishing benchmarks and implementing efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure product quality and optimal yield through the development of consistent and reliable manufacturing practices.
  • Control production reporting systems to enhance material tracking and minimize waste and defects.
  • Uphold safety procedures, maintenance protocols, and cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
  • Develop workforce planning strategies to accommodate labor budgeting, recruitment, cross-training, and shift scheduling in response to market needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years of diversified manufacturing experience in progressive leadership roles
  • Experience with automation and implementation of new technologies and equipment for process improvement
  • Experience with plastics extrusion and plastics manufacturing operations or equivalent experience
  • Experience with modern ERP systems and ERP implementations
  • Lean Manufacturing tools and ability to drive culture through KPI driven requirements and resource management
  • Expertise in safety management, standards, best practices and regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Leadership development, coaching, and implementation of work standards

Compensation:

  • Base salary up to 150k/year plus bonus
