About the Role:
Are you a proven leader in manufacturing operations with a passion for driving performance, quality, and profitability? We’re seeking a Plant Manager for client operations to oversee all aspects of our facility’s operations — from production and quality to shipping and receiving — while leading a high-performing team in a union environment.
This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll use Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to elevate plant performance and deliver results. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and department heads to ensure operational excellence and financial success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage all plant operations including production, quality control, and logistics.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma and other best practices.
- Collaborate with department managers to meet manufacturing goals on time and within budget.
- Oversee plant P&L, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Implement cost-effective controls over capital, labor, and operating expenses.
- Maintain and upgrade plant facilities and equipment as needed.
- Monitor and improve production and quality standards.
- Minimize labor overtime, freight costs, and repair expenses.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the operations team.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding production timelines and concerns.
- Participate in executive-level discussions on plant performance and strategy.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of Plant Manager experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field .
- Strong background in union workforce management.
- Proven experience with Lean/Six Sigma, process improvement, and operational leadership.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and pricing models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products and manufacturing software systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based within a manufacturing facility; occasional exposure to production areas.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and chemical fumes in accordance with safety protocols.
