About the role
This role plays a critical part in managing 811 locate operations, ensuring accurate and timely utility markings to support safe excavation practices. It involves close coordination with contractors, engineers, and agencies, along with analyzing mapping data, auditing tickets and invoices, and dispatching technicians. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies and streamlining processes.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate daily 811 locate ticket activities, including dispatching technicians and overseeing emergency locates.
Review and audit locate tickets using mapping software, street view tools, and ticket text to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and agencies to interpret technical documents, building plans, and permit applications.
Identify and report discrepancies between mapping systems and in-ground utilities; ensure accurate mapping updates and record corrections.
Analyze ticket volume and trends to develop reports and recommend process improvements.
Audit contractor invoices for accuracy and escalate issues or locate requests when necessary.
Maintain organized records and documentation of all 811 tickets for audit, compliance, and liability tracking purposes.
Qualifications:
1-2 years in Locates, One Call, or Utility Protection industry.
1-2 years of relevant work experience.
Effective communication with various stakeholders is essential.
Experience in ticket management systems, mapping software.
Knowledge of utility locating equipment and techniques, including ground-penetrating radar, radio detection, and surveying method a plus.
