Hours: 1st shift, days will vary | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience



Full-time, day shift position in Plant Engineering.



JOB SUMMARY:


Engages in maintaining and repairing physical structures and utility systems of hospital buildings and maintaining grounds. May supervise or coordinate activities of other workers as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




1. Engages in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishings of hospital.

2. Maintains and repairs building utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems and water distributing and plumbing systems without supervision with goal of 80%.

3. Engages in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment without supervision with goal of 80%.

4. Interprets specifications and job orders without supervision with goal of 80%.

5. Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines
and equipment without supervision with goal of 80%.

6. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or
assist workers in solving work problems.

7. Maintains time and maintenance records on equipment without supervision with goal of 80%.

8. May confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments without supervision with goal of 80%.

9. May confer with workers representatives to resolve grievances.

10. Sets up machines and equipment without supervision with goal of 80%.

11. Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties.

12. Processes patient chargeable itemsin accordance with Hospital Policy including designated time schedule of department 98% of the time.

13. Completes duties in a time efficient manner 95% of the time.

14. Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.

15. Assist Inventory Control Clerk in instances where quantity discrepancies exist between stock quantities/computer and manual inventory counts.

16. Demonstrates knowledge of Facility Disaster, Safety, Infection Control andHaz-Com policies.

17. Demonstrates ability to supervise self in absence of Material Manager, using chain of command when necessary.

18. Demonstrates knowledge to follow Department policy and procedure during downtime of
computerized system.

19. Helps to complete tasks in the materials function that are not within job description as assigned by Material
Manager. Renders self- available when responsibilities have been met to assist in areas that may require assistance within the materials function.

20. Adheres to the HIPPA and privacy policies and procedures. Reports any violation or appearance of violation of the policies and procedures and/or laws and regulations addressed in the Compliance Plan and the hospital Code of Conduct to the Compliance Officer, a member of Senior Leadership, or to the Department Director.



Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
