Scope of Position
The Plant Engineering Manager provides proactive leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the facility. This role drives excellence in preventive and predictive maintenance, process engineering, automation, technology modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while supporting cost efficiency and world-class safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Champion workplace safety by advancing initiatives that promote the health and welfare of all personnel.
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to achieve high performance through clear goals, accountability, and skill development.
- Direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs using Lean, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Manage Capital Expense (CapEx) projects, including initiation, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Drive process improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and setup/changeover times using root cause analysis and SMED best practices.
- Design efficient shop floor layouts, process flow paths, and equipment modifications for improved productivity and safety.
- Oversee maintenance systems and software (MP2, SAP, e-maintenance) to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Establish optimal spare parts inventory levels and manage MRO spares control.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders and cross-functional teams to support operational goals.
- Manage outside service contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and plant policies.
- Track, analyze, and report engineering and maintenance performance metrics for the facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering .
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering and maintenance management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (packaging, plastics, or blown film ).
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing large maintenance budgets and cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and engineering/maintenance software (AutoCAD, MP2, SAP, e-maintenance).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
