Job Description

Service Care Legal are working on behalf of our client, a London-based Local Authority, we are seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled legal professional to take on high-profile and complex planning and highways work in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

ROLE:                  Senior Planning Lawyer
LOCATION:         North London
CONTRACT:        3 months with possibility of extension
RATE:                   £35-40ph LTD / £35.42ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £31.60ph PAYE exc. holiday pay – DOE & interview performance

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied caseload of complex and high-profile planning and highway matters.

\n

• Work independently on Section 106 agreements and other planning obligations.

\n

• Provide expert legal advice on planning law to officers, members, and stakeholders.

\n

• Draft, review, and negotiate planning agreements.

\n

• Advise on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement issues.

\n

• Liaise effectively with planning officers, developers, and external stakeholders.

\n

Requirements:
 

\n
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with proven experience in planning law.

\n

• Strong knowledge of Section 106 agreements and planning legislation.

\n

• Previous experience working in a Local Authority setting is highly desirable.

\n

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

\n
