Planning Engineer Mechanical

Are you passionate about engineering planning and technical innovation within the mechanical field We are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to join our team as a Planning Engineer this pivotal role you will enable the seamless delivery of mechanical engineering projects through meticulous planning coordination and effective communication. Your selling skills technical expertise and problem-solving ability will be essential in driving both project and business success.

Key Responsibilities Mechanical Planning Coordination & Project Management

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules for mechanical engineering projects ensuring timely delivery in line with company objectives.
  • Coordinate with engineering production and sales teams to communicate project requirements and align priorities throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to gather technical requirements clarify project specifications and secure approvals as needed.
  • Monitor and report on project progress resolving scheduling conflicts and implementing corrective actions to address any delays or issues.
  • Optimise resource allocation documenting and adjusting plans to accommodate changes in scope or client needs while maintaining efficiency.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and mitigation planning to ensure project continuity and safety.
  • Support the sales team with technical input during proposal preparation including technical presentations and client consultations.

Required Skills Technical Knowledge Communication & Selling Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering principles processes and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal enabling clear interaction with clients colleagues and team members at all levels.
  • Demonstrated selling skills especially in explaining technical concepts and presenting project solutions to clients.
  • Proficiency in project planning software (e.g. MS Project Primavera P6) and standard engineering tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings specifications and contracts fluently.

Qualifications & Experience Mechanical Planning Engineer

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in planning scheduling or coordination roles within mechanical engineering manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with modern project management methodologies and tools.
  • A track record of working collaboratively in cross-functional environments.
