Position: Planning Engineer II

Location: Duluth MN or Superior WI (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: $40-$45/hour on W2

Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning & Scheduling: Facilitate detailed site scheduling with Operations, PMs, CMs, Project Controls, and Major Projects; monitor/flag risks; ensure feasibility against outage durations and ISDs; maintain critical materials/outage/contractor interdependency logs; drive optimizations and changes.
• Scope, Contracting & Strategy: Analyze scopes/contracting strategies; recommend optimizations (e.g., single-provider for overlapping services, equipment reduction).
• Site Coordination: Own site plot plans and workspace; identify overlaps/interferences/safety risks from congestion; manage laydown/storage/road closures; integrate outage management.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as trusted advisor with customer-service mindset; ensure alignment/transparency; collaborate on P6 data accuracy.
• Governance: Act as single point of contact for consolidated schedules/reports/risks; provide QA/guidance; develop procedures/processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 7 years in project management, construction, or project controls with strong focus on scheduling, construction sequencing, and optimization.
• Experience in industrial projects interfacing across Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution/Construction, and Commissioning.
• Solid understanding of construction activities, interdependencies, labor/equipment needs, and Liquids Pipelines Operations (or equivalent process plant/outage management).
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes/regulations/standards for pipeline systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
